The Mercado Foot and Ankle Clinic was founded in 1964 by Dr. O. A. Mercado [ author of the "Art Of Surgery" video series ], soon after his discharged from military service where he served for two years as an Army Doctor at Kimbrough Army Hospital, Fort Meade, Maryland.

Through hard work, innovative management, and successful growth, the group has become one of the leading foot and ankle centers in Illinois.The Mercado Center for Foot and Ankle Surgery in Oak Park, was one of the country’s first Podiatric Office Base surgical Facilities to be accredited by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Health Organizations
